Because i’m going to teaching Science in Biology, i was observed Biology class by Mr. Nakadai. During my observation of Mr. Nakadai's biology class, which covered the immune system, biodiversity, and ecosystems. I noted that his teaching primarily utilized methods such as lecturing and question-and-answer sessions. The class was structured into two 45-minute periods with a 10-minute break in between. He enhanced the standard biology textbook by linking concepts to students' real lives and local environment, making the subject matter more engaging and relatable.
To support learning, Mr. Nakadai shares presentation slides on Teams before class, enabling students to familiarize themselves with the content beforehand. He uses a projector to display these materials during the lesson. His assessment strategy includes a pre-test with short fill-in questions to evaluate prior knowledge, followed by a post-test to measure learning gains after the lesson. This approach allows students to learn first and have their prior knowledge before the class starts.
